I grew up in a small town on a farm filled with cows. As a young me, I spent all my time raising calves and trying to tame our wild cat population – ending up with a few cow-shed cats and my beloved cat, ‘Mamma’.
Every holiday I spent time at the local vet clinic ‘helping out’ – I’ve always loved animals so it was only natural that I fell into a career working with them.
Graduating from Massey University, I spent a few years working in NZ before heading off on my big OE while vet nurse locuming in England for 2 years. My love of adventure has made me an intrepid travelling, another big part of my life.
I love working at as a vet nurse and have found my niche at The Strand Veterinarian, a place where I have helped grow and been able to grow as a veterinary professional. In this special team environment, one that encourages personal and professional growth, I look forward to bringing my passion and ideas into our practice every day.
This year I am going to finish my International Diploma in Feline Nursing – while study and full-time work is difficult – making a difference to feline practice in NZ is something which drives me.
